Roofer

Ballynahinch, Co. Down - Travel throughout Northern Ireland and occasional travel to Great Britain may be required

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Roofer to join our installation team, specialising in roof preparation and roofing works associated with solar PV installations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring roofs are safe, weatherproof and installation ready while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship. Working alongside our solar installation teams, you will be responsible for carrying out roofing works on domestic, commercial and agricultural properties across Northern Ireland. This role is ideal for someone with strong roofing experience who enjoys working as part of a professional team and takes pride in delivering excellent results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out roofing work for domestic, commercial and agricultural solar PV installations.
  • Prepare roofs for solar panel installations.
  • Install roof mounting systems safely and correctly.
  • Ensure all roof penetrations are properly sealed and weatherproof.
  • Carry out roof inspections before installation.
  • Work closely with the electrical installation team on site.
  • Complete all work to a high standard and in line with company procedures.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Keep work areas clean, safe and organised.
  • Represent Premier Electrical Group professionally when working on customer sites.

Essential

  • Previous roofing experience (essential).
  • Willingness to travel throughout Northern Ireland and Flexibility to travel to Great Britain when required.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Competent using hand and power tools.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices.

Desirable

  • Experience working on solar PV installations.
  • Working at Height certification.
  • Experience with slate, tile or metal roofing systems.
